We discovered the NV GOP website giving false caucus info and don't know if this is intentional, but we bypassed it by referring people directly to the Nevada state registrar's office. It wasn't the most efficient solution, but it worked until we have an internal automated system for this task.
I called the the Washoe county and Clark county GOP offices to see if I
could learn anything. The Clark GOP office said all calls were being
referred to the county office as they were not in control of the caucus
locations. The Washoe county GOP office was different.
"We're infuriated the county has given bogus info. We're being
inundated with calls from angry GOP members wanting the correct
locations."

Robert drove us to the call center on a brisk but warm morning where we started the at 9am verifying people on the call list as Ron Paul supporters - a process known as reindentifying, or reID. The list was compiled from various sources - the official campaign website, robocalls and personal contact.

Daybreak. Where was I? I opened the curtain and hoped to garner a clue, but all I saw was rows of townhouses caked with snow and ice. Not sure of my host's schedule, I thumbed through a bookcase - ah, "The Federalist Papers"! That's something I've wanted to read for a while.
After the first chapter, Chris was at the door. We exchanged good mornings and talked politics while we made breakfast in the kitchen downstairs. That's how Justin said it was when he was campaigning in Iowa - people talked hard politics while getting started. It was a nice change to converse about serious issues over a banana and oatmeal.
I wasn't sure how or when I would get activated until I recieved a call from Justin. "Get everyone down to the call center right now! A news crew will be here in one hour!" It was 11am. I called Joni. "We're leaving now. Be ready."
Joni's father pulled up in A 4 door SUV and I loaded my gear into it. As we drove the winding roads from atop a mountain, I posed the question,
"So I can tell people where I stayed, where am I?"
"You're in Incline Village."
"Which is... where?"
"Lake Tahoe."
"No kidding? Where is it?"
"Look behind you."

Hey folks, I just wanted to write about a little campaign I'm trying in Nevada. We've heard that Ron Paul is "all over the internet" but I have yet to see a single ad for Ron Paul on the internet. So, with that in mind I started playing around with Google's AdWord service which is basically a "do-it-yourself" mechanism to easily create ads that are placed on websites of your choice. I'm running ads for today and tomorrow online in an attempt to capture some undecided voters, we know many people are on the fence and making their minds up at the last minute.
One of the wonderful things about Google's AdWords is that you can choose to only display the ads to people in certain areas. So, I've specifically limited the ad to people from Nevada and Portland (so I can see the ads too). The regional targeting doesn't work 100% as you can't always determine someones location by their IP address but I would just that it work's about 95% of the time.
As of right now the ad's been displayed 12,273 times.
One of the easy places to find the ad is here: http://weatherstudio.com/. Feel free to play the ad but don't click the link, I pay for each click. If you were to click the link it takes you here: http://www.ronpaulintro.com/slide-slideintro.phtml. Also, the intro image has been updated to this, but it hasn't propgated through Google's system yet.

Jodi from NE OR has been in Nevada for 5 weeks canvasing and asked for help on OR4RP.com I answered.
While making lodging arrangements, my nephew Justin called to tell me he was driving from PDX to Reno, NV to help as a paid intern for the campaign since he impressed them with his volunteer debut in IA the week before. This was the perfect solution since my car was recently stolen, I'd no money for a plane ticket, and time was short.
The plan was to arrive in Reno where we split up - Justin to the campaign and myself with grassroots. This should be a fun variation since I've canvassed Vancouver in icy, cold weather several times.
We travelled I-5 to California, hoping to make the trip in one pass in 9 hours - it didn't work out. Snow flurries, icy roads, and 20 foot fog visibility greeted us at Mt Shasta, 4000 ft elevation. The emergency radio indicated our pass through Hwy 89 was even more trecherous. The electronic highway billboards indicated chains were mandated and the highway was lined with trucks - we were the only car of the mile long convoy.
A fellow with state issued reflector gear asked us if we wanted help putting the chains on. We obliged, then he told us the fee was $15. "It's common knowledge." Sure, buddy. We gave him the cash and crawled on.
Upon reaching the other side of the mountain, the weather lightened slightly and we removed the chains. It was late, we were tired, so we opted to stay at a little hotel and hit the road at 9am.

The last jaunt through Shasta National Forest was slow and sometimes
slippery even with State crews clearing the roads. We stopped for a
break often, which was rather nice considering there was no traffic and
no "civilization" - the silence of winter was deafening.
On the
final pass through the long plains of Nevada, we passed a convoy of
unmarked government vehicles heading the other direction.
We
stopped for a half tank of gas (the car gets 40mpg) at a little shop in
the middle of nowhere - Hallelujiah, I believe. An amish couple drove
up the same time in a semi carrying a rocket launching tank on a
flatbed. How peculiar.
We reached
Reno at 3pm Thu, Jan 10 and met with Joni at the hotel. Our plans had
been rearranged several times since we initially talked - I didn't know
she was going to be at the hotel until I got there. We might have
discussed it on one of our cell phone conversations, but I don't
remember as I was tired from several days of sleep deprivation.
Regardless,
Justin met with with Jay, the call center organizer, and we all sat
around a lobby table and were told of campaign's plan - use the call
center to inform and
encourage caucus goers to stack the deck in Ron Paul's favor. Weighing
the turnout from canvasing and calling, Joni and I opted to join the
call center. The first order of business was to find boarding.
