2nd Amendment & Self-Defense 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago

It appears the mistake was to comply with laws restricting one's ability to defend oneself. Getting angry with the legislators won't bring back her parents.

The attached video clip is worth a look.

The Founders knew that a disarmed public is what allowed the European monarchs to rule, and tyrants to exercise power throughout history.

And, when the 2nd Amendment talks about a militia, it is important to note that virtually ALL able-bodied males at the time of the founding were automatically part of the militia.

It was NOT the same thing as today's National Guard. Quite the opposite. The militia was not a professional military force of any sort. It was ordinary farmers and townfolk.

The militia meant everybody.

So, the 2nd Amendment protects the rights of ordinary people, not just those serving in some professional military force. Oddly enough, even the Supreme Court ruled that way a few weeks ago.

Anyway, enjoy the video.
