The next step: The Campaign for Liberty

We made it to Iowa! Print E-mail
I traveled from Portland, Oregon to Des Moines, Iowa. It's great here.

The day was interesting. I left Portland, Oregon at 6 am this morning (12/27). I am now sitting in a ballroom inside the Des Moines Marriott. Ron is about twelve feet from me taking photos with all of the individual students that turned out to support him and the campaign. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet and talk with Ron for a few moments when I first arrived here at the hotel. Additionally, I got my photo taken with him and he signed my Apple laptop.

My flight was extremely eventful. During the first leg of my journey, I sat next to a man who knew of Ron Paul. He was not a supporter as he claimed to be undecided. For three hours I filled his brain with everything I could possibly tell him about Ron. At the end of the flight, he assured me that he would be voting for Ron.

On the second leg of my journey, I was sitting next to and directly behind the guys that are in charge of the Fred Thompson campaign in Texas. It's funny, they all know Ron personally. They said that they support Fred because of their belief that Fred could beat Hillary. They think that Fred is the only person that could beat Hillary. Interestingly, they mentioned that it is their belief that Fred will switch to an Independent after getting elected.

In short, what the heck?

I am impressed with the student turn-out. I think there is about 275 students. That rocks. We are being assigned to all corners of the state to canvass neighborhoods during the day and call Iowa residents in the evening.

....... Now it is 1:20 am and we are all settled in at camp. The snow is beautiful. I think that's it for tonight.
