The next step: The Campaign for Liberty

We're looking for a few motivated, responsible souls to join our team of Organizers. For our local efforts, there's no more important role - the effectiveness of our Organizers will have a major impact on our success in coming months.

Since July, the Ron Paul Meetup groups in the Portland/Vancouver area have flourished -- our membership rolls continue to climb, and our event calendars have been positively packed with activities. In many ways, we're setting a tremendous example for other Meetup groups across the country.

The "secret" to our success has been the willingness of individuals to step up and assume positions of responsibility -- to cite just a few examples:





  • Jerret and Nicolle's efforts in developing the OR4RP.com Web site and blog,

  • Wavyhill's creation of 'Ron Paul Theater',

  • Brian and Jenny's sponsorship of past sign-making events,
  • Stephanie's administration of the Speaker's Bureau and group contact list,

  • Manuel and Nadia's 'door-hanger factory,' and

  • All the folks who have taken the lead for Banner Brigades and canvassing efforts (Doug, Jan, Karen, Daniel, Annika, Alex, Lee, Tara, Bruce, et al.)
My apologies to those I've omitted, but trust me -- a complete list could run for pages!

While many folks have played vitally important roles, many of our accomplishments would not have happened if it weren't for the efforts of our Organizers (most notably, those whirlwinds of productivity known as Karl Huber and Katja Delavar). Organizers play an indispensable role by:
  1. Prioritizing our activities,
  2. Finding group members to lead our regular activities and specific events,
  3. Communicating information about our activities and events to group members,
  4. Facilitating communication between group members,
  5. Coordinating the acquisition and distribution of supplies, and
  6. Assuming miscellaneous responsibilities as they arise.
These functions are absolutely essential to our continued success. Unfortunately, some of our current Organizers are unable to continue in this capacity, so we're now seeking some responsible, good-humored self-starters to join our team. If we enter January without reinforcements, we risk losing ground on much of the progress we've made to date, and we'll have a tough go of things in the spring -- the single most important period of this campaign.

So PLEASE consider joining the Organizer team -- even if it's just for a month or two.
