The Tonight Show with Jay Leno: featuring Ron Paul and a whole bunch of paulateers. Print E-mail
Some members from Oregon and Vancouver made the trek down to sunny Los Angeles to see and support Ron Paul on The Tonight Show last Tuesday. One member even flew down last minute, booking their flight Monday around noon!

At 5:30 in the morning, a line of supporters had already formed at the ticket booth. We were part of this line and were able to get enough tickets for ourselves. Unfortunately, some Los Angeles groups were not able to get tickets. If you’re really into The Tonight Show, you may have heard about a woman named GloZell. She has attended The Tonight Show over 275 times in the past couple years. GloZell was caught completely off guard by a long line that early in the morning and would have not gotten in if a Paulunteer had not sacrificed his spot in line for her. As you would expect, we showed some real stewardship and gave her a spot at the front of the line. I had to laugh when she walked by a half-hour later with a 'Ron Paul Revolution' t-shirt on and a slim-jim in her pocket.

The NBC staff was also caught off guard by our support for Ron Paul; I guess they were expecting to find Tom Cruise fans. If that wasn’t enough Ron Paul put the icing on the cake when he paid us a visit while we were waiting in line. GloZell and several employees remarked that they had never seen anything like this before – most guests apparently never interact with the audience before the show.

I personally heard NBC staff remark, “this is crazy” or “can you believe this”. Apparently, they had a hard time getting over a politician in the primaries drawing this kind of support. To top that off, we were polite, well mannered, and respectful throughout the show.

There’s no point describing the interview, you can see that for yourself here:

After the show ,Dr. Paul once again displayed his character by stopping by AGAIN to say hello and sign memorabilia. This is one remarkable man. I can’t accurately express in words the impression he left upon us – all I can say is everything I’ve read about his character has been accurate. Makes me wonder If I’m doing enough to support him – how often does someone with this much integrity and modesty come along in politics?

The next time you see me, look for the Ron Paul signature on my now prized hat!
