 On Monday, MLK Day, the Oregonians for Ron Paul staged a sign wave in downtown Portland. We made quite a show with 60+ marchers and flag wavers, mega-banners, bucket drummers and plenty of Ron Paul signs!
Abe Lincoln showed up with his giant dogs (Oh was that Bob!?!), Renee handed out flags and rounded up drummers, and Nicolle snapped lots of pictures of us. People came from all over Oregon (we even had a few people from Vancouver). Great turn out from Salem, Jamie and group. We started at Pioneer Square and marched over to Powell's Books where we staged a huge sign wave "visiblast".
We had great new signs, freshly made in Gustav's metal sculpture shop on Saturday (thanks Gus, great workspace!). I love that we had the award winning "Sell Kidney, Give $$ to Ron Paul" sign out on the streets Monday. So, I think a good time was had by all. I ended up with a load of signs that I need to figure out how to redistribute. Special thanks to Diane for organizing this event and to Katja for making sure everyone had Slim Jims to handout! So, lets do this again soon gang!
