The next step: The Campaign for Liberty

We had an excellent meeting in Salem with the Oregon GOP last evening. To give you the flavor - they offered Voter Vault training to all campaigns. GOP staff want to be perceived as fair to all. However, they also want to work with those who show up and grab the brass ring. The room limit was 15. 18 showed up. All were Ron Paul supporters. We made clear that we had others who wanted to attend but whom we told to wait for the next training event, and we had a couple of conflicting meetings in Portland, also well attended. All 18 will receive access to Voter Vault. We have a statewide Ron Paul Voter Vault coordinator now. Like magic. No arguments. No hassles.
They will feature us in their next Statewide GOP newsletter, complete with a photo of our group crowding the office. We have access to their mailing equipment.
The next training will be voter registration training. Guess which campaign requested it. Again, offered to all, but guess who is going to be there, ready, willing, and able to hit the pavement and do so now, in the rain, snow, sleet and hail . Ron Paul momentum rising!
We understand the process better now.
What we need to do is continue to build our numbers. Each of us needs to file with the Secretary of State before March to have our names placed on the official primary ballot to become elected PCPs within the Oregon Republican Party. We do not even need to discuss this with the GOP. We just do it.
That's us! That's what we do now. We just do it! Boy do I love this.
Elected PCP's are eligible to become Convention delegates and they elect those delegates from their own ranks.
Elected PCP's select the state party leaders.
Just do it, and we write our own ticket.
Amy opened the gates last night. All we need to do is believe it, and walk on through, down the Yellow Brick Road to the Primary, the selection of delegates, the Convention, the real campaign for Liberty, and the Whitehouse. That does not mean there won't be bumps and diversions along the way, but the path is clear.
Let's make the parade of Americans walking past those gates and down that road as long as the eye can see - endless. When they gawk at us let's be sure that what they see are all Americans who love freedom and liberty, an endless line, walking, no, racing as fast we can, down the path to freedom.
Incidentally, we already are the poster children for GOP activism in Oregon. On their own initiative when they speak to groups the GOP staff use us as the example of what every candidate's supporters ought to be doing. Of course people still do not understand that no one is telling us what to do. We don't have a single campaign staff person in Oregon. We do not have an office. We do not have an organization in any conventional sense.
No one has seen anything like this before, so no one, not even the GOP staff, actually understands who we are or how or why this is happening. They think we are organized. Never before have they experienced bottom up anarchy - the stuff described by 19th century writers before the state clamped down and the organizational man took over.
All they see is that we show up, at every opportunity, in large numbers, in increasing numbers. They do not understand that we do this on our own initiative.
We, the people, are saying "Yes. I am accountable for my own life. I am inventing my own future. NOW!"
GOP staff report that the people who listen, instead of going back to their tired, top down campaigns and tired status quo candidates, are awaking from a depressed, somnolent state and asking simple questions - why do they people care, why are they doing this, who is Ron Paul, what is his message and why are these people responding.
As one of my military friends, a retired general says - AIRBORNE.
We will be posting links and instructions for becoming an elected PCP on our new website: http://oregoniansforronpaul.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 and shortly sending out more information about whom to contact locally.
Meanwhile, please explore the new site. Post your thoughts, suggestions and questions on the Message Board, and share your feedback.
