HOW TO SELECT YOUR DELEGATES TO THE CONVENTION 12 Months ago
STEP 1

Email to Nicolle at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , and Karl at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it YOUR NAME and the ADDRESS under which YOU are registered to vote.

Tell us if you registered Republican on or before September 13, 2007.

We will link you up with a team. We, and team members with access to GOP software, will give you a targeted list of registered Republicans who are your neighbors.

STEP 2

You speak with them, by phone or 1:1 at Starbucks. YOU decide if they are qualified, committed to Ron Paul and if you would choose to have them be your delegate to the Nominating Convention.

STEP 3

When you are satisfied with their commitment, then you:

Download Form SEL 105 and give them a copy to sign.

Download Link, Form SEL 105 http://www.sos.state.or.us/elections/publications/forms.html

You make sure the qualified person signs it and understands why they are signing it. Their name will appear on the GOP Primary Ballot as a candidate for Precinct Committee Person in their Neighborhood Precinct. Their neighbors will vote to elect them.

WINNING places them in the pool of those eligible to become Delegates. WINNING makes them eligible to attend the July 12 Caucus and select the Delegates who will select Ron Paul as our GOP Candidate for President.

You make sure that the form is complete. You make sure that the Precinct Number IS BLANK because we are going to fill those in when we sit down with the GOP on February 15.

STEP 4

You mail or hand deliver or courier the signed Form SEL 105 to:

Nicolle Null
31197 SW Metolius Court
Wilsonville, Oregon 97070

You email Nicolle at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , the person on your team who has access to targeting software and gives you call lists, and Karl at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with the contact information on the form, so we can follow up.

STEP 5

Return to STEP 1, take the list, and repeat STEPS 2 through 5 until you have collected and delivered 10 completed, signed SEL105 forms to Nicolle.

Good Hunting!

Re:HOW TO SELECT YOUR DELEGATES TO THE CONVENTION 11 Months, 1 Week ago
Something smells very wrong here. What is this with Feb 15 and sitting down with GOP? They don't decide squat, it's neighbors that vote for those in their precinct. I know I can run for PCP in my precinct or an adjacent precinct. And the SEL-105 filing deadline is March 11, almost 4 weeks after this arbitrary Feb 15 deadline.

Care to explain? I'm not about to lose 4 weeks to try and gather SEL-105 filers.

February 15 was an internal deadline I set to give us time to get all the precincts assigned and get the forms filed on time at the elections offices in each county.

If you know how to allocate precincts without speaking to the present GOP leaders and do so in such a way that we all are running unopposed, that will save us time and aggravation. I would prefer finding a way to do this without talking to anyone in the GOP. And maybe we don't give a damn about running unopposed. If we knock some existing rascals out of the box that's fine with me. There is a slight risk that some of our people will have sent in forms directly and that we would be opposing each other, but I think that risk is so small I am willing to accept it.

Circumstances have changed. I will not be able to handle most of this myself, as I had planned. I will be out of state at the critical times. Others in each county are going to have to step up. I plan to meet with Nicolle this week and revise the plan.

It also is clear that we will not meet the February 15 internal deadline.

The deadline needs to be extended. I am going to suggest March 3 so that there is time to meet with the appropriate GOP officials in each county, take the pile of forms to Salem and meet with Amy if we do not get cooperation at the county level, and Federal Express the forms to one leader in each county so that they arrive on Monday the 10th, can be checked for any list minute glitches, and filed before the close of business on March 11.

If we take a "damn the torpedoes full steam ahead" approach the deadline can be a few days later. In fact at that point the only reason for collecting the forms at a central location is to have a list so that at the July 12 statewide caucus we know who are ours.

I have not yet reached the spiritual heights of Saint Dominick who, when asked how his soldiers would distinguish Catholics from Protestants as they sacked the city replied, "Kill them all. God will know which are His."

Re:HOW TO SELECT YOUR DELEGATES TO THE CONVENTION 10 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I went to the Washington County Elections Office today and asked a series of questions about filling out SEL 105 (filing for PCP).

  • Residence Address: must be full mailing address (address, city, state, zip)

  • Mailing Address: can leave blank if same as Residence Address

  • Phone Number: should fill in if they need to call you to change you to an Adjacent Precinct, or if there is a problem with your form.

  • Filing for Precinct Number: fill in the precinct you live in; if you don't know, call your County Elections office http://www.sos.state.or.us/elections/other.info/clerk.htm

  • Resident Precinct: fill in this circle

  • Adjacent Precinct: fill in this circle, this gives them permission to put you in an adjacent precinct if your precinct is full. They said chance of this happening is 0.

  • Turn in to your County Elections office by March 5. It takes time to process forms, so if there is a problem they can fix it. Once the deadline passes, there is no fixing forms.

  • You will be mailed a confirmation sheet of how your name will appear on the May 20 ballot and for what precinct. Should get this 1 week after turning in form.
