We need Oregonians to come to Nevada!!!

Nevada is the third state to vote, along with South Carolina on Jan. 19th!

If you can come to Nevada, we can find places for you to stay. We still have hundreds of precincts to canvass in just Washoe County (Reno-Tahoe). Nevada has a caucus, not a primary, so we need to find Ron Paul supporters in each precinct to become delegates!

Come help us here! There's a great bunch of people to work with. We're from Northeastern Oregon and have been here for three weeks. We still need more help and time is short!!!

I'll be canvasing Incline, NV - an upper middle class area full of Bel Airesque mansions and second homes - until their caucus on 1/19.

Jodi from NE OR has been in NV for 5 weeks canvasing and asked for help on OR4RP. I answered. While making lodging arrangements, my nephew Justin called to tell me he was driving from PDX to Reno, NV to help as a paid intern for the campaign since he impressed them with his volunteer debut in IA the week before. This was the perfect solution since my car was recently stolen, I'd no money for a plane ticket, and time was short.

When I arrive in Reno, we will split up - Justin to the campaign and myself with grassroots. I've not setup a chipin fund, but may do so while there. I'm bringing a still camera, my canvas bag, and warm clothes. This should be a fun variation since I've canvased Vancouver in icy, cold weather several times. I'll return 1/20.

so, i'm not quite sure what happened here, but here is what i know.

last night, a member of the official campaign drove me to the house and we hung out while the final count was announced. he crashed here, and i went up to bed as well. about 3 hours later, our house captain got home, packed up, and apparently told everyone here (not knowing i was asleep upstairs) that due to our seemingly poor performance at the polls (that is being proven as fraud at this point), one of the group leaders was pissed off and forcing us to leave asap.

long story short, i woke up with my ride to NV gone. anyone who could give me a ride, some direction, or at least knowledge of what is going on has left, and now i don't even know how to get home, let alone to NV. i plan to call my friend from the official campaign out here, and take him up on his offer to use his washer and dryer to kill some time (and some smell from my clothes), but i'm not quite sure where to go from there. at this point, hitch hiking is looking more and more tempting.

i've still got housing/food/a way home from/etc... offered in NV; however, no way to get from here to there... or even Oregon. so if anyone knows people, can offer a suggestion, or help in anyway, it would be much appreciated.

i've gotta get out of this house pretty quick; however, when i get to a place with wifi where i can sit down for a few minutes, i will be posting a message to Oregonians for Ron Paul on YouTube....

Wow, that's really odd, but you know, that will make a dramatical moment in your video documentary. Seems to me you need a plane ticket bought from your nearest NH airport to the nearest NV airport for your next stay. I've been stranded before with no cash, no place to stay and still got through - you will too. Asking here is a good step. We don't want you hitchhiking, unless you know kung fu - then we encourage it.

Where will you be in NV? I'm bringing 7 blank miniDV tapes for you in case we bump into each other.

Justin and I arrived in NV @ 3pm Thu Jan 10. Snow and ice prevented us from getting there the same day. Met with campaign. Joni and I will probably be plugged into the call center. Have a few photos, but would like to setup a blog here. Nicolle, can you help?

Haven't had time to figure out the blog, but here's my update in the NV call center:

The NV GOP website is giving false caucus info. We don't know if this is intentional, but we're bypassing it by referring people directly to the NV State registrar's office. We may have an internal automated system for this soon.

Ron Paul will be at the call center on Mon Jan 14 @ 5pm! This is directly after his meet and greet in Reno. Hopefully, I can get a photo and autograph. I've photos of the call center at on another site which will be inserted into the blog here.

How would you like to start your day by meeting Dr. Paul? That's exactly what happened when I was standing in the lobby of the hotel waiting for my ride. I was blankly staring outside when Brian from Hillsboro commented, "Oh, there's Ron Paul." I turned my gaze and there he was, by himself, travel bag in tow, making a beeline towards me through the lobby doors. I finished my orange and extended my hand, "Good Morning, Dr. Paul." "Hi, how are ya", he responded. We shook hands and he went to the lobby desk.

My newphew, Justin, was speaking to the clerk as Ron Paul rolled up next to him. Jeremiah from Sacramento walked up to me. "Guess who just came into the hotel?" I pointed to the desk and his eyes grew wide. All three of us walked over to him where he was talking with Justin. The clerk was fumbling with the computer, "I can't seem to find you in our roster." Ron looks at us and says hi. Jeremiah jokingly says, "You can't find a room for the next president of the United States?" "If it's any consolation, I didn't let Bush in once." We all laughed. The clerk found the info and Dr. Paul was on his way, down the hall by himself. What a humble fellow.

Oh, and he's staying down the hall from my room at the hotel.
